I've been dealing with a number of realspace distractions, and haven't checked in here as much as I ought. But here it is, 2019! Did you all have a good holiday season? Read/seen anything good? Got a cool recipe? Hot gossip?

highly reccommend (esp. to fans of baru cormorant) a. martine: a memory called empire (tbr in march - i read an arc), which you know about because your blurb is on the cover, but others here may not.
the spiderverse movie is an art film, very poetic, in the tradition of the matrix really, and worth seeing.

p.s. don't tempt fate. it can always get worse.

I saw BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY, which I loved. And I'm reading the latest in the Rivers of London series - LIES SLEEPING. It's wonderful.

I am not elbren... and I have not read Arkady Martine's book, but I know the author online a bit, and she is perfectly capable of that, so I wouldn't rule it out.

Happy Calendar New Year!

I've had a blissful week off work, during which I took three young adults to see Into the Spiderverse. I thoroughly enjoyed it, which was far beyond my expectations.
